EWB Monitor is an Internet of Things (IoT) system designed for use in remote areas with limited or no infrastructure. EWB Monitor runs by solar power and communicates via the Iridium satellite system or via GSM if available.
Since 2018 EWB Monitor has been used for monitoring the functionality and water consumption of community water towers providing safe drinking water in both rural and urban areas of Sierra Leone. The data from these water towers can be accessed via this website.
EWB Monitor supports the UN Sustainable Development Goal 6: “Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all”
